The Organizing Committee apologies for changes and reduction of the conference program with respect to the early announced one in the webpage since 2008, as due to reduced finance of sponsors as consequence of the worldwide financial crisis.

CONFERENCE VENUE  AND REGISTRATION DESK
Palazzo Impellizzeri in Via della Maestranza 17 (near Piazza Duomo), Ortygia in Syracuse.
Registration desk will be open during the conference. Proceedings are published by Springer in a printed volume. Registered participants will receive one copy of the Proceedings at the conference venue.

ORAL PRESENTATION OF PAPER AND SESSION CHAIR ORGANIZATION
The official language of the Conference will be English. The speakers should present their contribution in 15 min with further 5 min for discussion. Slide and overhead projectors, projectors for personal computers, and VHS video system are available for presentation.
Session Chairs will moderate the discussion to be kept in the scheduled time and they will introduce shortly the authors with their affiliations.  The authors are kindly asked to contact the session chairs in due advance.

POSTER PRESENTATION
Poster will be installed in panels with maximum dimensions 100 x 120 cm in a room near the conference room. The authors will post their posters on the panels at 8.45 of Wednesday 9 June 2010 before the starting of sessions for oral presentations. The posters will stay the whole day, but the authors are kindly asked to be near the posters during the coffee break and mainly during the special time 17.00-18.00 for the poster session with the aim to facilitate discussions among conference participants.

ACCOMMODATION

In Syracuse hotels of all classes are available at reasonable prices. Information is available in the conference web page. It is hoped that conference participants will stay in Ortygia, the ancient city, and walk to all conference events. In early June Syracuse is sunny with an average temperature of 24ºC/75oF.

TRAVEL INFORMATION

Syracuse is accessible by air, car, train, and bus. The Catania- Fontanarossa Airport is 53 km north of Syracuse, about a onehour drive. Bus services from/to airport to/from Syracuse are available with schedule at www.interbus.it (INTERBUS - Ph.+39 095 532716 ). The Palermo International Airport is 210 km northwest of Syracuse, a four-hour drive. From Central Europe by car, take the A3 Autostrada to Reggio Calabria and cross the Straits of Messina by ferry. Follow the A18 toll road to Catania, continuing on the SS114 to Syracuse.

fee):

  • Wednesday 9 June 2010: Conference Banquet at 20.30 – 23.30 at the terrace of Hotel Des Etrangers et Miramare (tentative)
  • Thursday 10 June 2010: Cultural Visit to Euryalo Castle and other archaeological sites, with Social dinner, departure at 15.00 from Riva Garibaldi in Ortygia
